REGION: Granite Belt, Queensland.
COLOUR: Black cherry with purple tones.
NOSE:Â Plump ripe plums, rhubarb and chocolate and vanilla.
PALATE:Â Intense Merlot fruit, lifted fruitcake characters and blueberries, powerful tannins, and elegant oak, all integrated into a great long length palate that persists for ages.
WINEMAKING COMMENTS:Â 2010 was a good year for making Merlot, and of that parcel of Merlot, we extracted a small parcel of intense Merlot pressings that we kept separate for aging and developing, it was so good we decided to bottle it as a single winemaking style.
FOOD MATCHING: Enjoy with oven roasted duck and sautéed mushrooms.
