REGION:Â Granite Belt, Queensland.
COLOUR:Â Deep ruby with violet edges.
NOSE: Beautiful violet florals integrated with raspberry, blueberry and blackberry notes. Hints of pepper and black olives and touches of vanilla from 6-8 months maturation in oak.
PALATE:Â Excellent fruit concentration with notes of black cherry and black plums dominating the palate. A touch of French, charry oak providing structure and length on the palate, showing characteristics of cloves and a warm toastiness. The Viognier adds touches of apricots and dark florals. An elegant, pretty, medium-bodied style of wine that is food-friendly.
WINEMAKING COMMENTS: 2023 was a dry, warm and early vintage, which is excellent for ripening red varieties. Shiraz and Viognier were co-fermented to enhance aromatics and intensify colour. This wine is drinking beautifully now after maturation before release however can cellar up to five years.
FOOD MATCHING: Enjoy with chargrilled Queensland beef, whipped potato, sautéed seasonal greens and red wine jus.
