Methodé Traditionelle Vintage Sparkling
AWARDED GOLD & BEST SPARKLING AT THE 2024 QUEENSLAND WINE AWARDS
A tribute to Nadine, the daughter of Sirromet founders Terry and Lurleen Morris, this enchanting vintage sparkling is perfect for any celebration.
REGION: Granite Belt, Queensland.
COLOUR: Medium gold.
NOSE: Crisp green apple sherbet and delicate, fresh lemon pith fill the senses.
PALATE: Showing a complex bouquet of fresh green apples, delicate custard patisserie and sourdough notes from autolysis that rounds out the bright lemon citrus finish. The perfect aperitif or match to delicate canapés.
WINEMAKING COMMENTS: Made in the hand-crafted methode traditionnelle style, this sparkling is made with 100% Chardonnay and spent 3.5 years on lees to develop an elegant complexity and richness, showing a fine, tight bead in the glass. The fruit was picked early to retain high quality acidity and freshness as 2019 was a dry season. This vintage is lighter and more delicate than the previous with a touch of dosage done to balance the super fresh lemony acidity.
Carefully cellared on it's side in correct storage conditions, more florals and honeyed fruit notes will develop.
FOOD MATCHING: Fresh oysters / light seafood salad.
